Service for external use of the laser capture microdissection (LCM) unit
Application to Service
Reserve a time with at least 7 days' advance notice.
The service is governed by a strict rota of reservations within the timetable of 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
The main functions of this service are to laser cut and laser pressure catapult specimens already prepared.
The Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) facility allows cutting and isolating subpopulations from a histological slide with specimens previously stained or prepared with immunohistochemical procedures. The samples selectively collected using this procedure can be later processed to obtain RNA, DNA or protein samples.
Main characteristics of the PALM®-RMB-Research Microdissection system:
The IX71 Inverting Research Microscope by Olympus is adequate for advanced live cell applications. It has optical correction to the infinite and possibilities until seven access ports for images. The optic route of high transmission in V. Frame incorporates a 1-1.6x magnification changer and an adaptor for video/photograph camera. It incorporates a Laser-Interface MicroBeam system, pulsed laser with emission at 337 nm and a motorized Platen X/Y controlled through the PC, and it includes the PALM® Robot software.
